About the Author

Kami Guarino is a mom of four unique learners and a wife, educator, leader, mentor, and friend. She has worked with and been inspired by some of the most talented and insightful people throughout her career in education. Yet so often these individuals who have served others while striving to make a difference in the world feel defeated, exhausted, and ineffective. Kami is committed to shifting an educator’s mindset from surviving to thriving.

Kami is an educational leadership consultant and founder of The Excellence Team. During her thirty-year journey in the K–12 education system, she has experienced many personal and professional highs and lows. Her background in counseling and school leadership—combined with extensive experience in mindfulness, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care—has naturally led her to focus on the whole child/whole adult approach to education.
